Description:

This is my first upload, so be easy on me! I am not a professional designer, but I rather liked what I did. Figured I'd share.

If you want to use the SVG you will have to get these fonts first:
FUN FONTS - http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Fun+Fonts?content=37782

You need the Transformers font in there so that the "8.10" looks the same.

Other than that, it's straight forward.

Changelog:

1.03 - Uploaded Kubuntu Version (as per request).

1.02 - Uploaded the SVG (as per request) and gave some instructions.

1.01 - Fixed a typo in the original upload and I added the other 5 releases too. Anybody interested in a Kubuntu/Xubuntu version?

Very nice and professional looking. Could you possibly do this for kubuntu?

Do you want all 6 versions?? Or would one suffice?

64-Bit Desktop and 32-Bit Desktop would suffice for my needs. Thanks!

 Labels Don't fit some CD's

Any chance you have another version of all 6 of the 32/64 Ubuntu/Kbuntu Desktop/Server labels that will fil on a CD or DVD that has a non-printable stacking ring ? I burned my images to my printable CD's and went to print your label only to realize my DVD's don't have the ring while my CD's do. I wanted to attach a copy of what you label looks like with my CD dimension template superimposed but I don't see an option for attaching a .jpg image. Suffice it to say the work kubuntu is chopped off, otherwise it'd be fine as my software just won't print anything outside the template restrictions.

Is it just me, or is the Ubuntu SVG link just a link to the Ubuntu Desktop 64 image ? The Kubuntu SVG image downloaded fine as an SVG, bu the Ubuntu one did not.

I will check that out.

Ok, I tried uploading it again (to gnome-look.org) but it just doesn't seem to want to take the file. So I moved it somewhere else and made a link. It should work now.

I downloaded inkscape to my Openuse 11 box and was able to edit the Kubuntu image. I just moved the Icon and version to the right about 1/2 to 3/4 " to center it on my new template and moved the "kubuntu" down and to the left about 3/4" so it would all still fit. I didn't need to make any other modifications. It looks good, but probably not exactly centered since I didn't have my template to work with on my suse box. (Epson PrintCD template)

Yeah, I made these fit for the Taiyo Yuden CD (which are great BTW), and they have a solid white surface almost all the way to the edges. These labels fit great on those.

I would have to do some redesigning to make them fit on others. Give me some time and I will look into it. Cheers.

I use many different brands of CD's and DVD's but have found the Verbatim printables to be the most agreeable with the wide assortment of new and old CD & DVD drives we have here. Sam's club is also now selling the Verbatim printable DVD's for just under $30 for a 100 pack of white SNR DVD +/- R discs so I have started using Verbatim at home as well. BTW: The new Ubuntu SVG file downloads fine now.

 Pretty nice

I've been meaning to make a label for this for my "OS archive" set, something nicer than my sloppy Sharpie labels heh.

I'm using a LightScribe drive to "print" this, and had to make a few adjustments. The center hole is a little bigger because of the disc's bar code for the "printer" calibration. Mostly just had to shrink and reposition the Ibex icon and the Ubuntu text below it.

End result came out rather nicely. Nice work, thanks.

No word against Sharpies, eh! ... JK ;)

Anyways, if you want to upload your version on here for others to use, feel free. I don't know if I will have time to make a version for the larger middle hole in the next little while since I am swamped with work.

I had planned on it. Do you think I should do something else, or *update* this one to keep it somewhat uniform?

Greetings

A man with your talent! How about both? One based on this theme for guys like me who keep their previous CD/DVD's with uniform or similar labels and a new set to impress us ruffians!

Thanx

Here you go: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=96843

This is an updated version of this one. I also created a JJ logo I actually liked (finally).

Hope you like it!
