Thanks for the comment friend. I put icons on the Mac because they had to hand at the moment.

 not so many changes

hey there.

first i think it's a good idea to do visual mockups of where xfce should head. (even though i'm not sure you'll reach the devs if you only post it here and not on the mailinglist.)

anyways, considering the changes you propose:
- a new menu-style: i think that's a good idea and as far as i remember i heard about possible innovations there. maybe not yet in 4.8, but hey - who knows. one problem that i see with your idea thou is: what do you do if there are really *many* entries in a submenu? wouldn't that take the whole screen (at least in a netbook or alike) and make the menu quite unusable? (unusable cause it'd take ages to find what you want)

- panels: not sure whether that's not yet possible with a panel and a proper gtk-style for it.

- notifications: hmhm. well i think that xfce (like ubuntu) is moving away from the comic-bubble style a bit. but anyways, xfce4-notifyd is gtk-themable so you could do at least something close to your mockup.

i guess that's about it.

Greetings:
Of course there are few changes that I propose in this image. We must bear in mind that the goal is to be lightweight Xfce.

I'm working on a Mockup which represents a menu of applications with many inputs. Anyway I think this could be arranged with a kind of scroll bar. Although I think the best solution to this is to have a menu editor, because there are not many applications that are used and show up unnecessarily.

I still have not found a Xfce panel with rounded edges. What I propose is not the color, but rounded edges. Of course a gtk theme with the colors of the image would be very nice.

Sorry for my bad English.
