Description:

* PLEASE DON'T VOTE DOWN UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO LEAVE A COMMENT TO MOTIVATE YOUR ACTION*

This is a project for a theme for the new Jaunty Jackalope version of Ubuntu, however I decided to have a Kubuntu version too ;)

Notes about the theme:
Metacity buttons use 2 level "compressions": the first on hovering, the latter on pressing.
"Controls" Are a revisitation of the "Blue Lagoon X" theme.

That's my Ubuntu version of that theme:

Thanks in advice.

1. Kubuntu is with KDE desktop environment, not with GNOME. If this is not for KDE3/4 color schema, remove it from KDE-look.org.

2. Too much Cyan on it.

3. Too much cluttering on it (reason might be it is GTK+ UI and not Qt)

Sorry, you can not remove it from KDE-look.org because it shows GTK+ 1.x too by default when clicking Themes/styles.

Youre an idiot. It's obvious from the screenshot that he's on a Gnome based system. I think he means to say he's going for a "blue" (e.g., Kubuntu) look and feel for Jaunty. As to your comments on color and clutter: this is your opinion and perhaps you should keep it to yourself.

Great looking theme!!! Voted "good"

Thank you :-)

At least I understand that screenshot was taken from GTK+ application and not anykind "Gnome-based system". Last time I checked, KDE users could ran applications made by GTK+ on KDE too...

Oh and I have always tough't that Ubuntu's codename's are used on Kubuntu/Xubuntu (etc) too... or are those codenames like Jaunty only meant for Ubuntu?

Oh, sorry... I tought that THEMES rating is based to personal opinion what is the meaning of the rating too. And the author asked opinion WHY when voting BAD.

You are allowed to vote artwork based it to your opinion but I am not... I see... maybe because I am idiot so I need to use only objective fact to vote and not my opinion of artwork like color schema or style...

I haven't uploaded anything on KDE ONLY.
When you upload a stuff on gnome/kde/xfce-look or ubuntu art, that stuff is uploaded to EVERY art site!
So, a part of a mistake of description (that theme is for gtk2 and not 1) it's clearly for GTK, so, you just have to read!

As Cmost said, this theme is for an UBUNTU based distro, so I made a kubuntu-like theme for those who like it, or easily for those who like blue and not orange, that is the main color or ubuntu, and in particular, of jaunty.

Cmost was meaning that you can say things like "the progress bar is broken or too big and doesn't fit in the screen" but not about things like colors!
If you don't like a color just don't download the theme, voting down for a mismatching color is not so wise.

GTK+ 2.x stuff ain't published on kde-look.org, only GTK+ 1.x stuff. You can check that out if you want. And there isn't even point to show GTK+ 1.x stuff on kde-look.org because KDE is using Qt libraries, not GTK+.

That was my mistake, but that is still GTK+ 1.x series and not GTK+ 2.x series what would not show up on kde-look.org, only for other domains what is included for that series queries from other sites.

Then I suggest you to fix the subject of that, because Kubuntu is Ubuntu with KDE desktop environment. So place it like "Kubuntu's" so it is saying it's not for Kubuntu (KDE). And because you fixed the group from GTK+ 1.x -> GTK+ 2.x it can not be found from kde-look.org site anymore, what is the good thing. Thanks for that.

Colors of the style is the one good reason to vote. That voting system ain't there just to bring everyone 100% votes but to allow ALL users to vote the stuff. Reasons for that are mostly only the opinions about their taste for colors, style, ideas etc.

If you do not want that people votes judging the style by it's colors, then you should never post it.

If I downloaded it, checked it and I did not like the colors and style, why I should not vote bad because of Colors? Should I just be quiet then if my opinion of the style/colors ain't in line with yours?

If we go to direction where no one is allowed to vote bad, we end up to situation where there ain't democracy and there ain't freedom and opinions. Everyones should just vote Good or would not vote. That means the "Bad" button is useless here and it only means that every stuff sended here ends up to have 100% rating.

Being a artits or developer means that you need to take critic from the stuff what you do. You asked that those who vote bad, gives you a comment why. I did just what you asked and still you are not satisfied.

 ? Colors ?

I've corrected the mistake, it was not on purpose and you should have being more polite when having me noticing it...
However I meant that colors are a misure of vote in situation such as
"metacity doesn't fit with black controls" and stuffs like this.
You can vote bad if you think that "black buttons on white controls" are ugly, but voting down JUST because you dislike the color is completely no-sens IMHO.
I don't vote bad stuff just because I don't like the color!
I vote the idea and the color mix-up.
I won't ever have a black theme but I vote good a black theme if I think that is well made.

Good and Bad buttons are not meaning "vote everything you have under your eyes", a vote must be more critical.
"I don't like the progress bar, I voted bad", ok That's a comment and a reason!

It might depend on your display brightness.
I'm used to set it off, so I save battery power and see clearly the same ;)

One suggestion though: Don't make the text so close in color to the window background. For one, it causes eye strain, and for two, it causes people to not download your theme :P
Looks great though, with the exception of the font color. Change that, and you'll have yourself a winner.

Thanks for commenting and thanks for having me noticing a mistake of image =P
Metacity text is WHITE!
I've got the right image now ;)

However, if you mean the light blue writes, those are the Insensitive entries.

Thanks Again

Alex
